Certified Liability Advisor™
is an industry designation created by KendallTodd,
Inc., the industry leading provider of strategy, content, training, and tools for
mortgage and financial advisory professionals seeking to maximize clients’ wealth
creation through the management of their liabilities. Liability management includes
overarching concepts that go beyond mortgage planning and equity management to bridge
the convergence of both sides of the consumer’s balance sheet. It is a training

Mortgage Planner™ (CMP) designation?
Certified Mortgage Planner™ is a title first introduced
by the National Association of Mortgage Professionals (NAMP) and later became an
industry designation administered by Mortgage Planner University. The Certified
Mortgage Planner™ has completed an extensive
training and certification program where participants received specialized instruction
in debt and equity management. A Certified Mortgage Planner™
understands how to integrate a mortgage into a homeowners’ short and long-term financial
objectives while focusing on minimizing interest expense, maximizing cash flow and
savings, and building wealth in the fastest and safest way possible.
Certified Mortgage Planners™ adhere to a strict code
of ethics and agree to put the borrower’s interest first, acting fairly and diligently
when providing you with mortgage planning advice and services. The CMP code of ethics
states that a Certified Mortgage Planner™
must act with integrity, offering you objective professional services based on your
unique needs.

Mortgage Planning Specialist™
(CMPS) designation?
Certified Mortgage Planning Specialist™
is an industry designation created by the Certified Mortgage Planning Institute,
which was formed by leaders in the mortgage and financial planning industries to
raise professional standards among mortgage professionals and integrate sound financial
planning advice into the mortgage process. Recognized for its preeminence within
the industry, the CMPS curriculum represents the core knowledge expected of residential
mortgage advisors, regardless of the diversity of specializations within the industry.
The Certified Mortgage Planning Specialist™
has received education and training in five essential skill sets related to integrating
a clients’ mortgage, debt, and home equity into their overall financial plan. The
five essential areas are as follows: 1) Financial Market and Interest Rate Analysis,
2) Cash Flow & Debt Analysis, 3) Real Estate Equity Management, 4) Real Estate
Investment Planning, and 5) Mortgage & Real Estate Taxation Concepts. The designation
is earned when the participant completes the course, passes the 150 question examination,
and pledges to follow a strict code of ethics.
